at the bookfair in grade six i bought a book about vlad dracul for a dime. i'm sure this is where my love of woodcut prints was born.
the biography itself was SCARY& i can still remember the exact moment when i flipped to the page that portrayed this woodcut.
yikes.

this film left me feeling like i was in another dreamy dimension: the speed of it, filmed in a single take at the russian state hermitage building in st.petersburg.  founded by catherine the great* in 1764 to house her personal collection.
